University guide rates Glasgow top in Scotland for law
Glasgow University's School of Law remains the hghest ranked in Scotland, according to the subject tables in the newly published Complete University Guide 2016.
The School is ranked no 7 in the UK, down one place on last year, and two ahead of the Edinburgh University School of Law, which is up one place to no 9 in the UK. Glasgow School of Law also ranks no 1 in the UK for graduate prospects.
Ahead of Glasgow, in order from 1 to 6, are Cambridge, Oxford, Durham, London School of Economics, University College London, and Nottingham. King's College London is at no 8 and Bristol University at no 10.
Aberdeen, up one place at 11, and Strathclyde, down one at 15, are also in the UK top 20.
Other Scottish law school placings are Dundee, unchanged at 28; Robert Gordon, up 12 at 31; Stirling, up four at 36; Abertay, up two at 50; Glasgow Caledonian, unchanged at 65; Edinburgh Napier, down eight at 67; and West of Scotland, down three at 100.
Universities are assessed on entry standards, student satisfaction, research quality, and graduate prospects.
