Watermans to expand into Glasgow

11th March 2015 | practice management

Personal injury legal practice Law firm Watermans is to expand by opening an office in Glasgow.

Watermans Accident Claims and Care already acts for a number of clients located in the Glasgow area, and the firm has now decided to open a permanent city centre base.

The new office on West George Street will be led by Ross Slater, who has more than 20 years’ experience as a personal injury solicitor, and who joined Watermans in January. Also helping establish the office will be Susanne McGraw, a personal injury specialist from Thompsons Scotland, and Heather Tierney who is currently based in Watermans' Edinburgh office.

Managing director Scott Whyte said that because the west of Scotland region represented the company’s largest client base there was room for further growth. “This is a landmark moment for Watermans as we look to expand our operations in an area which is strategically important for the company", he commented. "With the latest changes from the Court Reform Bill having a major effect on where and how people’s claims are heard, we need to have people on the ground to service communities in local sheriff courts.”

Watermans' latest turnover exceeded £3m over 12 months. The company currently employs 28 staff across its Edinburgh and Glasgow offices.
