Young lawyers bring tennis cancer charity tournament to Edinburgh
Three newly qualified Edinburgh lawyers are behind the first event in Scotland by an international organisation that combines support for cancer research with a love of tennis.
Cancer Research Racquet, an international group of US, UK & EU legal and business professionals, comes to Edinburgh on 19 May 2015 for its first event in Scotland, at the start of a six week tour of jurisdictions around Europe to raise funds for its latest grant project.
Brainstormed by three local newly qualified solicitors, Emma Johnston, Lauren Hurcombe and Emma Boffey, the afternoon event will allow young lawyers the opportunity to dust off their racquets and play colleagues visiting Edinburgh from across the world as part of Cancer Research Racquet.
In the evening, the founder of the movement, Rob Kinas, will speak at its first "Endless Champagne" reception hosted at the Signet Library, where donors will be able to hear more about the work of the charity and how lawyers from across Scotland can get involved.
Tickets to this event are free in return for a £15 donation to Cancer Racquet Research. Tickets include endless champagne, the chance to participate in a charity raffle and the opportunity to hear from Mr Kinas on his work with lawyers from around the world.
Tickets are available via this link.
