Alan Cook

Eversheds Sutherland
Alan is a partner in our real estate group and has experience spanning both clean energy projects and mainstream commercial property.

He is qualified in both Scotland and England & Wales and has significant experience on the real estate aspects of energy projects across the UK. He has advised developers, energy companies, investors and funders in relation to onshore and offshore wind, battery storage, solar projects, wave/tidal and heat schemes.

In relation to offshore wind he has advised on the offshore and onshore property aspects of multiple projects across the UK including seabed leases, onshore substations/cable routes, and arrangements for port facilities, as well as divestments, financing arrangements and OFTO transactions.

He also acts for institutions, investors and occupiers in the development, letting, acquisition and disposal of office, retail and industrial properties. His experience includes investment transactions, forward fundings, development and management of retail and office schemes, and occupier portfolio management.

Alan is Chair of the Scottish Property Federation’s Commercial Real Estate Committee and is a member of the Law Society of Scotland’s Tax Law Sub-Committee.
