Amanda Millar

Amanda is a solicitor with extensive experience in Incapacity Law and in supporting individuals and organisations working in complex and challenging environments. A Past President of the Law Society of Scotland, she has represented organisational interests at cabinet level with government, at CEO level with stakeholders, and at Chair and VC level within education.

She is a director of Buchanan Millar Ltd, a consultancy specialising in the business benefits of inclusive values and practices. She is also the independent Chair of Samaritans Scotland and a Trustee on the UK & Ireland Board.

Amanda’s career is anchored in her core values of equity, justice, and respect. She is known for bringing clarity, integrity, and disciplined leadership to her work across legal, business, and charity sectors. Alongside her governance and advisory roles, she coaches leaders and teams, applying evidence‑based frameworks to strengthen resilience, clarity, and inclusive practice.
