Andrew Brown
Andrew is a Partner in Anderson Strathern and has been since 2015. Andrew is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in Employment Law. He tutors at the University of Edinburgh.
Andrew went to the University of Glasgow, but decided that he did not want to be a lawyer. After his degree, he worked in a call centre in the mornings and delivered take away in the evenings. After a year of that, he decided that law might not be such a bad career choice.
So in 2003 Andrew returned to University to study for the Diploma. He then worked in Glasgow at the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission, investigating alleged miscarriages of justice. He eventually relented and defected to the East to undertake his traineeship in Anderson Strathern’s Edinburgh office. (At that time Anderson Strathern did not have a Glasgow office.) Andrew has stayed with Anderson Strathern and in Edinburgh ever since.
Andrew acts for employers and employees in all aspects of employment law. Employer clients range from large multinational companies and Government Departments to small businesses with a handful of employees. As a Partner, Andrew is on the firm’s Finance Committee and looks after a team of five employment lawyers and three HR Consultants, which sit inside the wider employment team - the Employment Immigration and Pensions Unit.
