Dr Angela O'Hagan PhD

Reader, Wise Centre for Economic Justice
Glasgow Caledonian University

Dr Angela O’Hagan is a Reader in Equalities and Public Policy at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) where she is also Deputy Director of the WISE Centre for Economic Justice and Programme Leader on the new MSc in Human Rights.  Angela also teaches on gender, human rights and development, critically engaging with theory, policy, and institutional action on the advancement of gender equality.  She completed her PhD on gender budgeting in Scotland and Spain in 2013 and has been involved in gender analysis of public finance and public policy for over 20 years, including as a long-standing member of the Scottish and UK Women’s Budget Group, the European Gender Budgeting Network, and as Chair of the Scottish Government Equality and Budget Advisory Group.  Prior to joining GCU Angela was Campaigns and Communications lead at Oxfam Scotland where she was also Head of Oxfam Scotland for a spell in 2004-05, and Chaired the Scottish organising group for Make Poverty History campaign and the G8 March and rally in Edinburgh in July 2005.
