Emma Reid

Emma is director and co-founder of Ergo Law Limited, a specialist employment law firm based in the West End of Edinburgh.

On qualification she joined Pinsent Masons, where she met her future business partner Cathy Donald. Gaining further experience at a smaller employment law firm she then established Ergo Law with Cathy in 2016 to blend the best aspects of big and specialist firms.

As a start-up law firm Ergo Law relied on tech solutions to quickly establish a loyal client base and grow its reputation. Now 10 years in business, Ergo Law continues to take an entrepreneurial approach to serving clients, utilising tech and embracing new opportunities to continue to provide the highest standard of regulated legal advice, in the most efficient way.

Emma relishes the surprises that employment law presents, as it allows her to understand people deeply, to be in a position of trust to find ways to make their lives easier and solve difficult situations. Emma and the Ergo team embody compassion, good humour, straight talking as well as an entrepreneurial attitude to serving their clients, solving problems and ensuring Ergo Law’s continued success as trusted adviser and as a business.
