Katrina Lumsdaine

Partner and Solicitor Advocate
Anderson Strathern

With over 25 year of litigation experience, Katrina heads Anderson Strathern’s Edinburgh Commercial Litigation Team. She has been a Solicitor Advocate since 2007 and, since 2015, has held a Judicial post.

Katrina began her career appearing regularly in the Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland. Her focus then moved to the Court of Session. She now conducts complex, high value disputes, often involving several parties and cross border issues in the Court of Session, high courts in other jurisdictions, as well as tribunals including the Competition Appeal Tribunal.

She is consistently ranked by both Legal 500 and Chambers. Chambers quotes that “Katrina is a pleasure to work with. She is down to earth, sensible and a no-nonsense professional. She is very knowledgeable and committed to providing a high level of service”; "Katrina was very organised; she really understood what the issue within the case was" and “She's very client-minded and always wants to get a good resolution”. Legal 500 say that “Katrina Lumsdaine is a calm, capable and determined litigator”; and “Katrina Lumsdaine has experience and knowledge that ensures that realistic client objectives are met”. This builds on the comments from last year, which found that “Katrina is always very impressive. Her level of experience, her decisiveness in terms of dealing with things and her client handling are good”; “Katrina Lumsdaine is an experienced litigator, who retains focus on the commercial objective”; “Katrina Lumsdaine is great at keeping all the plates spinning in a busy litigation practice”; and “Katrina Lumsdaine is always clear and reassuring
