Kevin McKee

Head of Legal Services and Deputy Monitoring Officer, Legal and Assurance Division, Edinburgh Council

Kevin is Head of Legal Services and Deputy Monitoring Officer at the City of Edinburgh Council, leading a team of 35 lawyers. He began his career with Shepherd & Wedderburn, specialising in infrastructure projects before joining the Council on secondment in 2010. He joined the Council permanently in 2012, with a focus on commercial contracts and procurement.

 

Kevin’s current role involves oversight of client service and strategic advice on sensitive and high profile matters involving the Council. In his role as Deputy Monitoring Officer, he is tasked with investigating serious or systemic allegations within the organisation, and also oversees investigations conducted by the Council’s whistleblowing service. The Council operates an external legal framework across five different lots and Kevin is responsible for relationship management with the law firms on the framework.
