Laura Meldrum

Laura Meldrum is a Business Development Associate at Harper Macleod and works within the Firm’s HM Connect team, managing and nurturing Harper Macleod’s relationships with high street and rural law firms in Scotland. Laura has a breadth of legal experience having previously worked at a full service law firm for over 8 years. Laura specialised in employment law before the move into business development which provided Laura with invaluable insight into private practice and the challenges faced by those delivering legal services in Scotland.

HM Connect is a referral and support network for high street and rural law firms and has over 400 member law firms throughout Scotland. HM Connect has developed into Scotland’s leading referral network, with over 30% of all legal firms in Scotland being members.

Laura is a past president of the Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association and in 2017 was a finalist in the Scottish Women’s Awards “services to law” category. Laura is a member of the LawScot Wellbeing Steering Group for the Law Society of Scotland and chairs Harper Macleod’s internal wellbeing committee, as well as being a certified Mental Health First Aider.
