Nick Dale

Vice President, Safeguarding and Policing
CGI

Nick Dale is Vice President for Safeguarding and Policing at CGI UK and a member of the Public Safety leadership team. With over 25 years’ experience delivering transformation across policing, criminal justice, and the commercial sector, he brings a unique blend of public sector insight and international commercial acumen. His career spans Europe, Asia, and Australia–New Zealand, where he has led complex programmes that drive innovation and operational excellence.

Nick is currently completing a part-time PhD in Artificial Intelligence in Public Safety, building on his earlier postgraduate research at the University of Cambridge. His work explores the ethical, legitimate, and explainable use of AI across public safety settings. His thesis on using big data to enhance trust in policing informed a national initiative led by the National Police Chiefs’ Council in 2023, following two high-profile convictions of serving officers.

Nick was an advisory board member for the Police Foundation’s Strategic Review of Policing, published in March 2022. Under his leadership, CGI won the Lord Ferrers Award with the Metropolitan Police for its Employer Supported Policing programme.

He is passionate about the power of technology to improve public safety outcomes and works closely with law enforcement and safeguarding partners to unlock the potential of existing and emerging digital tools.
