Professor June Andrews OBE

Prof June Andrews OBE FRCN MA LLB (Edinburgh) is a nurse, academic, author and dementia specialist with more than four decades’ experience in clinical practice, research and service development. She holds a law degree from the University of Edinburgh and brings clinical insight to complex questions of capacity, consent and risk in later life. Professor Emeritus and former Director of the Dementia Services Development Centre at Stirling University, she is internationally recognised for work on dementia care. She specialises in teaching professionals how to communicate clearly and confidently with families affected by dementia under stress. She offers family support and mediation for example, around emotional and expensive proxy decision making in the later life of older family and friends.
