Rachel Williams
Rachel qualified as solicitor in 2013 and has spent the majority of her career working in house in the financial sector having trained and qualified with a private practice firm, where she specialised in litigation.
Rachel is a payments specialist provides support to the whole group on payment related matters as well as advising the Retail and Wealth divisions of the bank on product related matters. She has a wealth of experience in advising on new regulation, including taking part in various external groups to discuss and lobby on consultations. Rachel also advises on emerging technologies which has included Open Banking, Digital Assets and the use of biometrics. During her time in house, Rachel also had a secondment to a banking regulator in London where she was part of a team advising on new payments infrastructure and scheme participation.
Rachel plays an active role in the recruitment and supervision of the trainees in the bank and is a member of both the bank-wide gender committee and the wellbeing committee.
