She has a pragmatic approach to data protection and privacy, and regularly assists clients in dealing with data breaches, individual data rights and international transfers of data, as well as advising on policies, procedures and marketing. She has successfully delivered multiple general update training sessions as well as targeted data protection training to ensure clients understand requirements and can implement these internally. Ruth is keen to ensure our clients receive practical advice to help with data protection application and compliance.
Ruth also works with clients on IP and commercial contract matters, advising on supply chain and distribution contracts, “software as a service” arrangements and IP licenses, introducer and commission agreements and master services agreements. The team’s clients come from a range of industries including life science, food and drink, manufacturing, software and technologies.
Ruth has been appointed to the Law Society of Scotland Privacy sub-committee from 1 July 2023, to work with key stakeholders and respond to consultations and legislation with potential impacts on privacy matters.
