Sheekha Saha

Co-Convener, In-house Lawyers’ Committee, Law Society of Scotland
Senior Solicitor, Moray Council

Sheekha is a Senior Solicitor with Moray Council, based in their Elgin office. She has almost 25 years in-house practice, covering various areas of Local Authority legal practice, but with a focus on Litigation and Social Work law. Outside the ‘day job’, she is one of the elected Members to the Law Society of Scotland’s governing Council and sits on a number of the Society’s Committees, including Child & Family Law, Access to Justice, Public Policy and she Co-Convenes the Inhouse Lawyers’ Committee. She is one of the five founding Members of SEMLA (the Scottish Ethinic Minorities Lawyers Association, an organisation established to promote and support the Legal professions in achieving equality, diversity and inclusion within those professions, for those from minority ethnic backgrounds). She is passionate about in-house legal practice and celebrating the in-house legal community. Sheekha was awarded the Herald Law Awards’ In-house Lawyer of the Year in 2022.
