Stuart Mackie

Partner
Thorntons Law LLP

Stuart is a key member of Thorntons' Private Client team in Dundee and Angus. He has a broad experience base and is well placed to advise individuals, families and corporate clients on a range of matters.

Stuart advises clients on matters ranging from contentious disputes to succession advice, wills, powers of attorney, trusts and the administration of estates; and he regularly deals with contentious executries, contentious guardianship applications and other disputes arising from private client matters. Stuart successfully completed the STEP Diploma in Trusts & Estates in Scotland, with merit, in 2019.

Stuart joined Thorntons in 2008 starting his legal career as a court lawyer. The six years experience he gained in this field mean he is well placed to deal with contentious matters.

Stuart has experience dealing with drafting wills and succession planning for high-net-worth individuals and dealing with the winding up of complex estates particularly involving APR and BPR relief claims.
