Vulnerable witnesses seminar

With the Vulnerable Witnesses (Criminal Evidence) (Scotland) Act 2019 receiving royal assent on 13 June 2019, following Practice Note No 1 of 2017 and the recent Practice Note of 2019, substantial changes have been made to procedure concerning vulnerable witnesses, particularly child witnesses. This seminar will welcome expert speakers who will address exactly what the Act means and how it will affect your work at this stage. 

Whilst the Act will be phased in implementation, this seminar, by bringing together insight and early-stage guidance from a variety of perspectives including government, the court and the legal profession, will ensure that you have the clarity you need on how the changes in court procedure will be implemented in practice. 

The seminar will also feature panel discussion and insight from User Group members with the aim of identifying current and future features required for ongoing training design in this area.
