Commissary and OPG fees about to rise
From 25 April 2018, commissary fees will be increasing in line with the Sheriff Court Fees Order 2018. The main increases to look out for are:
- petition for appointment of executor will be increasing from £18 to £19;
- applications for confirmation will increase as follows:
where the value of the estate does not exceed £50,000, there is no fee;
where the value of the estate is over £50,000 but does not exceed £250,000, the fee will increase from £250 to £256;
where the value of the estate exceeds £250,000, the fee will increase from £500 to £512;
each certificate of confirmation ordered when lodging the inventory will increase from £7 to £8.
All Office of the Public Guardian fees are also due to increase on 25 April 2018, in line with sched 1 to SSI 2018/86. The fee for submitting a power of attorney for registration will increase from £75 to £77.
