Law Society agrees strategic partnership with award-winning fintech, Amiqus Resolution

24th January 2019 | Professional support

A new strategic partnership will see the Law Society of Scotland work even more closely with Edinburgh-based technology company, Amiqus Resolution, as they develop and deliver software products to support law firms across Scotland.

Amiqus has been a Law Society of Scotland-approved supplier for two years, offering anti-money laundering and compliance checks with its award-winning Amiqus ID product. Amiqus ID helps law firms to securely collect, analyse and manage anti-money laundering and compliance information for staff and clients. The software currently serves high-profile clients across multiple regulated professions.

Amiqus Resolution will collaborate with the Law Society to provide insight, support, guidance and accessible solutions for Scottish solicitors as they undertake new ways of working.

The profession can expect to see the Law Society work with Amiqus Resolution to deliver new products and services. Their next endeavour will be to support alternative dispute resolution, a development influenced by the International Council of Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) 2020 Conference in Edinburgh.

Paul Mosson, Executive Director of Member Services and Engagement at the Law Society of Scotland, said: “We are very excited to be working with Amiqus and their team of industry experts as it will enable us to deliver even more world-class services at the cutting edge of technology for our members and their clients. This alliance with technology is part of our wider approach through LawscotTech to keeping Scottish law firms ahead of the curve.”

Callum Murray, CEO at Amiqus said: “We’ve worked with the Law Society of Scotland for a number of years now and we’re delighted to advance our commitment to the sector. Supporting innovation in Scotland as a jurisdiction is a high priority for us as we build a team and products that are able to compete globally. Working collaboratively, the Scottish legal sector has the opportunity to lead internationally, and we’re thrilled to be part of it.”
