Change to Education Fund structure

In light of planned changes to the structure of the Education Fund overseen by the Society of Law Accountants in Scotland (SOLAS) and the Law Society, SOLAS will be taking over the administration of the educational courses from 1 January 2019. This administration was previously carried out by our Education, Training and Qualifications team.

The courses focus on the three key areas of cashroom accounting, executries and feeing and are for a period of one year with one term dedicated to each module. Modules are provided in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness. There is also the option to attend the classes via webinar video link.

Law Society Head of Admissions Katie Wood said, “We will continue to work closely with SOLAS and its members.

“SOLAS represents a significant proportion of the cash room and accounting staff who support solicitors in legal practices in Scotland. The majority of SOLAS members are cashroom based and their experience contributes hugely to the smooth running of cash rooms, with particular emphasis on full compliance with the accounts rules laid down by the Law Society.”
