Children’s Hearings System | Vision and Values Review
The Children’s Hearings Improvement Partnership (CHIP) have published a new vision and values statement for the Children’s Hearings System, and are keen to get your views on this work, its content and its relevance.
CHIP brings together a range of agencies and key interests who have responsibility for the successful delivery of Scotland’s Hearings System.
One of the priority activities for CHIP in 2015/16 was the creation of a statement of vision and values which reflects the enduring ethos of the Children’s Hearings System.
The vision and values were to include the following key components:-
- understanding of each other’s roles and responsibilities in the Hearing system
- respect for the roles and responsibilities of others – demonstrated through constructive, positive behaviours, consistent with the ethos of the Hearing System
- a commitment to the principle of paramount concern of ‘best interests’ of the child/young person in all elements of our contributions, actions and decision making
The vision and values will be reviewed over the course of the next 9 months to assess whether they are having the right kind of impact and what further development and refinement is required.
