Convener of Society's Property Law Committee to speak at Unifi conference
Ross Mackay, convener of the Law Society of Scotland’s Property Law Committee and chair of the Society’s Future of Conveyancing working party, will be speaking at a conference hosted by Unifi Scotland on 10 March 2015.
The event, titled ‘A World-Class Digital Land and Property Information Database for Scotland’, will feature key figures from public and private sectors discussing the benefits of creating a digital, one-stop land and property database.
Mr. MacKay, who will be presenting his thoughts on making a modern conveyancing system happen, alongside the opportunities and challenges this goal presents, said: “It’s really important for Scottish solicitors to engage in discussion about the future of land and property. With land reform clearly on the Scottish Government’s legislative agenda, now is the time to join the debate.”
‘A World-Class Digital Land and Property Information Database for Scotland’ takes place three months after Scottish ministers launched their consultation on taking forward a Land Reform Bill and after the implementation of the Land Registration etc. (Scotland) Act 2012.
