DX addressing replacing LP
From Monday 1 January 2018, DX addressing will be used as the preferred way of sending mail within the document exchange in Scotland.
We will be removing references to LP addresses from our website, and the Find a Solicitor tool, in December.
What does this mean for you?
If your firm hasn't already updated your record to include a DX address, check Find a Solicitor to see if your details are up to date. If you need to update your firm's record, please email registrar@lawscot.org.uk with your up-to-date DX address.
We would also recommend that you update your DX address, and remove any references to LP addressing on your website, stationary, email signatures etc.
Your firm will need to ensure systems are updated so that documents are only addressed to DX numbers, and not LP addresses, and also ensure that your documents only show your DX return to sender details (read the letter from DX for information about getting a stamp if needed, for your mail).
Further information
DX will be sending a letter to all its members with more detail and information on ensuring your DX address information is accurate.
