Fee payment and gift arrangements changed at Scottish Court and Tribunals Service
The Scottish Court and Tribunals Service (SCTS) has announced changes to some of its fee payment arrangements which may affect solicitors.
Credit account holders at SCTS may experience some changes to the timing of their invoices in November and December. The details of any changes are outlined on the SCTS website.
They are also inviting those who currently pay fees by transaction to set up monthly payments. Application forms for such a change are available by emailing creditfeeapplication@scotcourts.gov.uk
In the lead up to Christmas and following a review, SCTS has introduced a new policy on gifts which will mean that members of staff can no longer accept alcohol as a gift. We know that many solicitors buy gifts for members of staff during the festive season to show their appreciation for the assistance they have received over the year, but please be aware that bottles of alcohol can no longer be accepted.
