Fraud alert - fake law firm
What’s the scam?
We have been notified of a fake law firm named McCallum and Co, The firm is claiming to be based in Cowdenbeath, Fife, with offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh, and offer legal advice in personal injury and accident compensation cases. There is no firm of solicitors of this name registered with the Law Society.
What should I do?
We would advise solicitors, their colleagues and any members of the public not to respond to any communication they might receive from the firm calling itself McCallum and Co or provide any personal information on its website (www.mccallumandco.co.uk). If you suspect a fraud remember to report it on the Action Fraud website. Where a fraud or scam has actually taken place, it should be reported directly to Police Scotland.
