Just seven years younger than the Law Society itself, the Journal magazine has served the profession well since the first ever copy was read in 1956.

The Journal online launched in 2004 and has become a key source of legal news for members, law students and members of the public. More recently in 2019 the Journal online integrated with our own website bringing a wealth of great content together in one place.

We are dedicated to ensuring that the Journal continues to deliver high quality legal news and commentary. In order to stay relevant, we need to know what you need and want from the Journal, what you find most interesting, how you like to receive your news and what’s missing.
