Launch of updated Help to Buy ISA portal
An updated Help to Buy ISA portal is set to be launched on 23 May 2016. The portal will allow conveyancers to request bonus payments on behalf of Help to Buy ISA account holders as part of eligible property purchases.
However, due to scheduled site maintenance, users will not be able to submit a bonus request on the existing site after 2pm on 20 May 2016. Requests submitted up to this time will be progressed through the current process.
All future bonus requests will be submitted via the updated portal from 9am on 23 May 2016.
According to the operators of the scheme, all firms that wish to make a bonus request will need to undertake the registration process on the updated portal, even if they have made a bonus request previously.
Once a firm has registered, the portal facilitates:
- Management and administration of firm users
- Bonus request submission
- Bonus status tracking
- Return of a bonus
- Scheme administrator contact and;
- Property completion confirmation and title document submission
The portal can be accessed via www.helptobuyportal.org.uk from 23 May 2016.
A portal user guide together with the Scheme Rules and Conveyancer Guidelines are available.
Due to the anticipated high volume of conveyancer registrations, the Scheme Administrator recommends that firms register once they have been instructed by their client to submit a bonus request. There is no requirement to pre-register.
