Law Society President pays tribute to Lauren Fowler
Law Society of Scotland President Pat Thom has paid tribute to Council member Lauren Fowler who passed away recently.
Lauren joined the Law Society’s Council in 2017 and was a member of the Society’s Legal Aid Committee between 2017 and 2020. A partner and founder of Ayrshire law firm Frazer Coogans Solicitors, she was jointly accredited in family and child law in recognition of her experience in both areas of practice. Lauren was also a Safeguarder, appointed to act in children’s best interests within Scotland’s Children’s Hearing System.
President of the Law Society, Pat Thom, said: “We were deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of Lauren following a short illness.
“Lauren was a valued colleague on Council for many years, representing solicitors in south Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway. She brought her expertise, experience and insight to our work and made valuable contributions to our discussions on a range of issues affecting our members.
“Lauren was a highly respected family lawyer and child law specialist and known for her deep dedication and compassion for her clients in this complex and sensitive area of law.
“She will be very much missed by her colleagues and friends at the Society and across the profession. Our sincerest condolences go to her family and friends and her colleagues at Frazer Coogan.”
