Sheila Webster said: “Many congratulations to all those joining the prestigious ranks of the Royal of Society of Edinburgh. It is wonderful to see the legal sector represented by Professor Fiona Leverick, Professor Nicole Busby, Laura Dunlop KC, and the Law Society’s own Director of Law Reform, Michael Clancy.
“Michael is very highly respected both within the legal sector and across the political spectrum for his deep knowledge and expertise. His fellowship is a much deserved and fitting award for the significant contribution he has made through his insightful, impartial legal analysis of legislation introduced by both the Scottish and UK Parliaments, particularly in relation to constitutional and human rights law."
Michael Clancy said: " I am absolutely delighted to have been elected as a member of the Royal Society of Edinburgh - Scotland's National Academy. To join such a distinguished group is a great honour. I hope to contribute to the work of the RSE in the years to come."
