The Law Society of Scotland is proud to endorse the Mindful Business Charter
Take five and sit back for our fourth and final video on The Mindful Business Charter. In this segment our Careers and Wellbeing Manager, Darren Kerr, explains how the charter is not about not working hard but about working more effectively.
As part of our mental health and wellbeing initiative, the Law Society of Scotland now officially endorses the Mindful Business Charter, an initiative committed to removing unnecessary sources of stress and promoting better mental health and wellbeing in the workplace.
Over 100 organisations from across the globe have signed up to the ‘Mindful Business Charter’ and as the professional body for Scottish solicitors, the Law Society will be encouraging member firms to get on board.
The Law Society’s Careers and Wellbeing manager, Darren Kerr, said: “We are extremely proud to be supporting the Mindful Business Charter. As the professional body for Scottish Solicitors, we are committed to providing our members with healthy working solutions and encourage our members to sign up to help create a better working environment for all.
“We have done some excellent work to develop Lawscot Wellbeing, a dedicated online resource that provides help and guidance for our members, as individuals, colleagues and employers. The Mindful Business Charter is a really positive next step which will help to amplify the work we and other organisations do by creating a forum to share our knowledge and ideas.
“The Charter is realistic and commercial and recognises that it is not feasible to eliminate stress altogether, but by creating a flexible framework and establishing more effective and respectful ways of working we can remove some of the unnecessary workplace stresses and build happier heathier working environments.”
Over the coming months, the Law Society will share a series of short video updates on progress, details of an information session on Tuesday 5 April and how to get involved with the Mindful Business Charter.
