Scottish solicitors will be able to renew their practising certificate online from 25 August 2016, with 31 October set as the deadline for completing the process.
For the second year, all practising certificate renewal will take place online via the Law Society’s website. This year solicitors will also be able to trial a new feature enabling them to update many of their own details, making the process more straightforward for those renewing.
Members are reminded to ensure they have their login details to hand in advance of renewal. The login section offers a facility for those who have forgotten these.
James Ness, Deputy Registrar at the Law Society of Scotland, said: ‘We’re pleased to be able to offer a further development to the renewal process to our members. The ability to update your own details is another step in making renewal as smooth as possible. As it’s the first year this new feature will be available, we’ll be welcoming feedback and looking at where we can improve in future, but we’re confident it will make life easier for our members.’
Practising certificate renewal will be available from www.lawscot.org.uk/pc-renewal and once again members are encouraged to renew as early as possible.
This month will also see the process of Master Policy renewal get under way, with Marsh scheduled to contact firms in the week commencing 25 August.
