The Coronavirus (Scotland) (No2) Act 2020 which came into effect on 27 May 2020 relaxed the requirement for a notary to be physically present when executing certain documents.
On 25th January 2022, the Scottish Government introduced the Coronavirus (Recovery and Reform) (Scotland) Bill into the Scottish Parliament which seeks to amend the Requirements of Writing (Scotland) Act 1995 by providing for the disapplication of physical presence in relation to subscription or alteration of documents, oaths and affirmations or declarations.
We are keen to hear from our members about their most recent experience of remote online notarisation to allow us to better inform the Scottish Parliament.
