'Returning to Work' events

18th May 2016

Book now for our free Returning to Work events

Are you or is someone you manage on maternity, adoption or shared parental leave? If so, reserve your place now for one of our free events in Edinburgh on Wednesday 22 June 2016.

There are two short events, both of which can count towards CPD requirements.

The first is aimed at those on leave preparing to return to work, and the second is for line managers with staff on leave. Both will be hosted by Jessica Chivers, MD of the Talent Keeper Specialists and an expert in coaching and retaining staff as well as author ofMothers Work! How to Get a Grip on Guilt and Make a Smooth Return to Work.

Agenda

10am-12.30pm Free session for people on maternity, adoption or shared parental leave.

The session will be tailored to delegates’ personal requirements, working to the issues and topics in the room rather than a pre-determined agenda.   Subjects for discussion might include how to effectively renegotiate your role; how to set yourself up for a great return; how to reignite your confidence and how to draw boundaries between work and home.

12.30-1.30pm Free networking lunch for all attendees and an opportunity to share issues and experiences with peers and colleagues.

1.45-3.45pm Free session for line managers who have team members on maternity, adoption or shared parental leave.

Line managers are the key to a successful transition back into the workplace. If you are keen to hang onto your maternity leavers and help them make a smooth return to work, then this event is for you.  The session for line managers will cover topics such as easing the transition; flexible working; performance and feedback and career progression.

More information

The Returning to Work events follow the launch of our popular free online guides aimed at new parents in the profession and their line managers.

Both events will take place on Wednesday 22 June 2016 at Law Society of Scotland, Atria One, Morrison Street, Edinburgh, EH3 8EX.

The sessions are free but spaces are limited so book now to guarantee your place.

If you have any questions about the event or the booking process, please email comms@lawscot.org.uk
