Fraud alert - fake law firm letter
We have been informed of a scam letter claiming to be from a solicitor at a law firm called ‘Winchester Solicitors’ in Ellon, Aberdeenshire, about an unclaimed pension policy held by a deceased client. There is no such current firm in Ellon and our members should ignore any letters or emails they or their clients may receive.
What should you do?
If you suspect a fraud remember to report it on the Action Fraud website.
Where a fraud or scam has actually taken place, it should be reported directly to Police Scotland.
