Scam emails from 'Law Society'
What's the scam?
We have been informed of scam emails claiming to be from 'Law Society' sent out to solicitors and law firms with PDF downloads.
The emails have the subject line 'Important Information' and claim that we have been trying to reach the recipient urgently and ask them to review an attachment. The 'from' email address is not a Law Society of Scotland email address.

What should you do?
We recommend you and your colleagues read our cybersecurity guide which includes tips for individuals on what to think about before opening emails and attachments. Do not click the link to download the attachment on these emails.
If you suspect a fraud, or other internet crime, remember to report it on the Action Fraud website.
Where a fraud or scam has actually taken place, it should be reported directly to Police Scotland.
