Society’s Laura Malcolm appointed as director to LawCare board
Professional Support Manager Laura Malcolm will become the Society’s new trustee and director on the board of LawCare.
LawCare is an independent charity which provides help and support to solicitors in times of need. It helps legal professionals cope with issues such as stress, workplace bullying, disputes with colleagues and alcohol misuse.
Following her appointment, solicitor Laura said: “I’m delighted to be joining the LawCare board and to be able to contribute to the fantastic work they do to support members of the legal profession. It’s an incredibly valuable service for our members and I’m looking forward to becoming even more involved.”
More information on LawCare’s services is available on their website while members of the legal professions can access their free and confidential helpline on 0800 279 6888. You can also read about LawCare’s latest activities in our summer update.
Laura isn’t the first member of Law Society staff to be appointed to a high-profile board position. In fact, as part of the Society’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy staff are actively encouraged to apply for board positions like this and to volunteer their time for worthy causes where possible.
