Solicitor advocate introductory course
Bookings are now open for an introductory course for solicitor advocate applicants taking place on 6 March 2020 in Edinburgh.
Since 1 January 2020 anyone wishing to apply for extended rights of audience in the criminal courts needs to attend a solicitor advocates introductory course before submitting an application. This change in the practice rules will also apply to the civil process from 1 July 2020, so any prospective civil applicants are also advised to attend the March course.
The course provides practical training explaining the application process and the standards and training required to obtained extended rights of audience in the court. The Society of Solicitor Advocates will be running the March course. For more details including costs and how to book, visit the Society of Solicitor Advocates’ website.
