SSDT consultation: standard of proof
The Scottish Solicitors’ Discipline Tribunal (SSDT) is consulting on the standard of proof which it applies in professional misconduct cases.
Currently, the SSDT applies the criminal standard of proof and the tribunal invites the views of the Scottish legal profession on whether, it should apply the civil standard and if so, should this be implemented by way of a tribunal rule.
Full details of the consultation can be found on the SSDT website and interested parties should submit their comments using the response form provided to enquiries@ssdt.org.uk by the closing date, 4pm 21 June 2019. Please feel free to copy the Law Society in on your response at comms@lawscot.org.uk as we are always interested in hearing your views..
