New SLCC policy on levy for upheld complaints
The Scottish Legal Complaints Commission (SLCC) has revised its policy on the levy it can impose for upheld and partly upheld complaints against solicitors.
The revised policy, which follows an internal review carried out by the SLCC, will apply to all complaints that are determined on or after 1 October 2018. More information on the new policy and how the levy will be applied is available on the SLCC website.
The SLCC plans to contact Client Relations Managers (CRMs) at firms which currently have a complaint in the system to advise on how the policy will impact on them.
Please contact the SLCC if you have any queries about the revised policy and how it may affect your firm.
