Appeal for researchers to help Scottish Sentencing Council
An appeal for researchers and academics who specialise in any aspect of the sentencing process has been put out by the Scottish Sentencing Council as it prepares its first three-year business plan.
A key strand of the plan, to be published this autumn, will be the Council's role in researching sentencing practice throughout Scotland.
It is currently constructing a research framework to set out its primary areas of interest, and investigating the best methods for commissioning research on specific topics.
Meanwhile, the Council would like to engage with current research relevant to sentencing, and would welcome anyone publishing results to contact it to highlight their work.
It also invites researchers to contact it with any ideas they may have for potential projects on sentencing practice or policy.
