Brodies teams up with Gleneagles again for new tennis event

18th April 2016 | Sport

Brodies, Scotland’s largest law firm, is to host a new invitational tennis tournament at Gleneagles Hotel on 10 and 11 June.

Former British stars Tim Henman and Greg Rusedski, along with Grand Slam finalists Thomas Enqvist and Cédric Pioline will between them play four matches over two days at the hotel’s indoor arena, the second time Brodies and Gleneagles have collaborated in putting on an event, following last year's "Tennis Greats".

The event is also being supported by the John Clark Motor Group, and marketing agency The Gate.

Tim Henman commented: “I can’t wait to compete in Scotland again. Andy Murray’s success has had a tremendous impact on Scottish tennis and we all hope that the Brodies Invitational will help encourage young people from across the country to pick up a racquet and get involved. While there will be fun on court and an opportunity for sports fans to soak up the pre-Wimbledon atmosphere, make no mistake – our passion for the game is as strong as ever and we’re all out to win.”

The tournament also aims to encourage grass-roots involvement in the game. Supported by Gleneagles, Tennis Scotland and Judy Murray, the event will see the top players compete with Scotland’s most talented junior players, join Judy and local schoolchildren in a "Tennis on the Road" session, and help raise money for the Elena Baltacha Foundation, which aims to give children from all backgrounds the opportunity to take part in the sport.
