Government professional services group to hold Scots round tables
A UK Government-headed group covering the professional sector is coming to Scotland to seek views on the future of the legal profession for incorporation into its Sector Deal.
The Professional & Business Services Council (PBSC), which is organised by the BEIS Professional & Business Services sector team and co-chaired by a minister and an industry figure, will host round tables in Inverness and Glasgow next week, giving professional and business services bodies an opportunity to shape the final deal.
Forming part of the UK Government’s industrial strategy, the Sector Deal enables the sector to work with Government to increase its growth and productivity. It will feature commitments on social mobility, the role of the regions and other pledges to improve the professional and business services landscape.
As part of its regional focus, the PBSC is hosting roundtables across the UK. The Scottish events take place in Inverness on 20 February 2019 (2-4pm, EY Offices, Stoneyfield Business Park, Inverness IV2 7PA), and in Glasgow on 21 February 2019 (10am-12 noon, Arup Offices, 1 West Regent St, Glasgow G2 1RW).
