Emily Deans

I am a solicitor in the Family Law Team within Balfour+Manson’s Edinburgh Office.

 I have a particular interest in Child Law and alternative family structures, such as adoption, surrogacy, donor conception and assisted conception. Outside of work I currently volunteer with Shared Parenting Scotland and the Scottish Child Law Centre, providing free legal information in connection with the law as it relates to families and children.  

 As a solicitor in the Family Law Team, I specialise in a variety of matters including divorce, cohabitation, child residence and relocation, and contact disputes. Although I am based in the Edinburgh office, I work closely with my colleagues in both Edinburgh and Aberdeen. I have experience in appearing at various Sheriff Courts across Scotland, and regularly act as a Local Agent for actions raised at the Court of Session.
