Jamie Spurway

Trainer
Spurway

Jamie Spurway is a freelance diversity trainer, specialising in issues of refugees, race, religion, culture, and gender.  He regularly works with a wide range of charities and public sector organisations including Police Scotland, British Red Cross and Glasgow University, primarily providing training courses and workshops on a range of equality, diversity and inclusion issues.  Jamie also works with Interfaith Scotland as Religious Equalities Training Officer and with the antiracist organisation Brap, as an associate facilitator.

Jamie spent five years working as tour guide throughout the Middle East, North Africa and Indian Subcontinent.  He then returned to Glasgow to work with the Scottish Refugee Council for eight years, and has been freelance since 2013.  He is motivated by enabling empathy across difference, creating spaces for people to explore the relationship between their identities and their experience of the world.
