Laura McLean

Partner
Harper MacLeod

I am collaboratively trained and endeavour to negotiate amicable settlements wherever possible. This is particularly important in child-centred cases.  My approach is solution-focussed and empathetic and my aim is to support and guide my clients as they navigate the legal process amidst difficult personal circumstances.

I am accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in family law, child law and as a mediator in family law. I advise clients on a broad range of family law issues, including divorce, financial provision on separation, pre-nuptial agreements, cohabitation, adoption and disputes relating to children.  I have wide experience in complex and high-value cases and those with intersecting public law aspects.

In situations where court action is necessary, I am an experienced litigator and regularly appear in the Sheriff Courts. I am mindful that my clients require a sensitive and pragmatic approach and that court proceedings can be stressful and emotional.  I strive to help clients participate fully in what can be a daunting process so that they achieve positive outcomes.

I am based between our Inverness and Elgin offices.
