Nyla Khan

Founder and CEO
The Universal Truth

As a lived experience leader and campaigner, Nyla's mission is to eradicate forced marriage and honour-based violence.

She educates and support individuals, organisations, and society about this exploitative and illegal practice through her social enterprise Universal Truth and has also helped hundreds of ethnic minority women recover and rebuild their lives after forced marriage.
One of Nyla's notable achievements is the development of Diplomatic Dialogue, an initiative designed to educate and support professionals including police, government, education, and health practitioners in understanding and addressing forced marriage and other illegal cultural practices. It increases awareness and promote effective interventions to protect individuals from such abuses. Currently, Nyla is focused on scaling and commercialising this service to reach a broader audience and make a greater impact.

Nyla is G100 UK Country Chair for Mental Health. She is also an inspirational speaker, delivering high profile speeches to drive positive change and inspire others worldwide. Nyla is also writing her memoir 'The Privilege To Love' about her experiences. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Robert Gordon University, is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), and is a Harper Collins Academy Graduate.
