Pride Edinburgh March 2025
On Saturday, 21 June, we were delighted to partner again with Addleshaw Goddard, its Open AG network and the Glass Network at a brunch before the 2025 Pride Edinburgh March.
The event brought together Addleshaw Goddard's staff and clients, Glass members and Law Society colleagues and members to mark Pride 2025.
Our president Patricia Thom, Laurie Anderson of Addleshaw Goddard and members of our Equality and Diversity Committee said a few words, welcoming colleagues, friends, family (including a few very well-behaved dogs!) and others to this event.
On a more serious note, both Laurie and Patricia highlighted the original intent of LGBTQ+ Pride as a protest against discrimination and intolerance against LGBTQ+ people, and for activism and advocacy.
While significant progress has been made, given current world events, Pride continues to be a platform for activism and advocacy, highlighting ongoing struggles for equality and social justice for LGBTQ+ people around the world.
A number of colleagues, family and friends completed the Edinburgh march. And, while participating in Pride remains a highlight of our inclusion work at the Law Society, we remain committed to supporting and defending the rights of LGBTQ+ members and others throughout the year.
