Burges Salmon hires employee benefit specialist partner
UK law firm Burges Salmon has announced the appointment of Nigel Watson as a corporate partner to lead its Employee Incentives team from 4 January 2021, as it builds its presence in Scotland following the opening of its Edinburgh office in 2019.
Mr Watson was previously a partner at Brodies, where he established and led its Employee Benefits practice. Advising companies and owner-managed businesses on employee share ownership, tax-effective reward structures and remuneration design and execution, he has extensive experience in all aspects of the design, implementation and operation of equity incentive plans, and advising remuneration committees on management incentive issues.
At Burges Salmon his UK-wide practice will see him focus on advising clients across a number of the firm’s key strategic areas, including financial services and private equity.
