Burges Salmon signs up to Scottish Business Pledge
UK legal firm Burges Salmon has become a signatory to the Scottish Business Pledge.
The pledge is a values-led partnership between the Scottish Government and business that aims to boost productivity and competitiveness through fairness, equality and sustainable employment. It comprises a number of elements that businesses must already meet or must commit to addressing, including the living wage; zero hour contracts; gender pay gap; workforce engagement; a skilled and diverse workforce; environmental impact; innovation; internationalisation; community; and prompt payment.
As part of its pledge, Burges Salmon will participate in a bi-annual survey to continue to measure and report on its progress.
The firm has been building its Scottish presence since launching in Edinburgh in April 2019.
Katie Russell, Edinburgh-based partner in the Employment team, commented: “I’m delighted that we are joining the movement to make Scotland a wealthier, fairer, more forward-looking nation by making the Scottish Business Pledge. It’s a privilege to share this platform with a 750-strong members’ network of like-minded organisations and this commitment will bolster our established reputation as a responsible business in the Scottish business community.”
